9.10.010            Violation of Tribal Ordinance

 

Any person who violates an ordinance or code promulgated by the governing body of the Skokomish Indian Tribe to prohibit or compel certain conduct shall be guilty of an offense and upon conviction shall be sentenced as provided in the ordinance or code, or if no sentencing is provided, a fine not to exceed $5,000.00, or a jail sentence not to exceed one year, or both.

 

9.10.020            Criminal Attempt

 

Any person who, with intent to commit a specific crime, does any act which is a substantial step toward committing that crime shall be guilty of an offense in the next inferior class than the offense which was attempted.

 

For example, a person who attempts an offense which would be a class A offense if all the elements of the offense were present is guilty of a class B offense.

 

9.10.030            Aiding and Abetting

 

Any person who knowingly aids and abets another person to commit an act or engage in conduct which is unlawful under this code shall be guilty of an offense in the next inferior class than the offense which was attempted.

 

For example, a person who attempts an offense which would be a class A offense if all the elements of the offense were present is guilty of a class B offense.

 

To "aid and abet" includes, but is not limited to, helping, assisting or facilitating the commission of a crime, promoting the accomplishment of a crime, helping to advance or bring about a crime, or to encourage, counsel or incite the commission of a crime.
